About This Item
Standard series book design and economy for the 1920s-30s. Between World Wars, the book market for youth developed themes of mystery, problem-solving, adventure, and the friendship coming from shared imagined danger. This book offers early in the pages a list noting "Heroes of the Air". The list of titles in this series is near the back, each with brief theme. End papers are illustrated by a flying orange single-engine plane. Frontispiece: Detailed artist's photo-like image of an early 20th century dirigible above the sea showing the trick of a small plane catching its top hook onto a "trapeze" underneath the "blimp's" passenger carrier. Ex-library. Interior pages damaged, torn, repaired with old tape. Readable still.
