About This Item
New York, NY: Alfred A. Knopf, 1938. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Near Fine first edition cloth SIGNED by author with gilt lettering on spine and embossed front cover with Good DJ in protective mylar cover. The cover, lettering, spine, etc are flawless and virtually 'as new.' I classified the book as Near Fine only because the front and end papers display some age toning and spotting. It may be that the pages have some slight age toning, but it is so slight and uniform that it may be a trick of the eye. No markings, creases, or tears. Excellent bones. The DJ, on the other hand, has seen better days. Chipping and tears to top and bottom of DJ on both front and back with 1 1/2 inch closed tear at top of front. Looks pretty cool, though, in the mylar. And, let's get real, this is the first edition of Ben Belitt's first book. SIGNED!
