Blue coloured in pages between pages 182 and 183 there are 10 pages of black-and-white photography. 1/4 tan coloured cloth covered back script with guilt coloured titles. 3/4 blue coloured board felt embossed design to the front panel. Colour illustrated dust wrapper with yellow, black and brown coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A biography of Sir Arthur Evans, British archaeologist, who through dogged determination made one of the most breathtaking discoveries in archaeological history  that of the Palace of Minos at Knossos, on Crete. This book is not only about the discovery but, of the man behind the discovery. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with some sunning along the top and bottom edges. Light age toning of the text block edges and pages. Previous owners name to the top edge of the free front end page. Chipping to the top back strip edge with creasing of the top edge. Fading to the back strip with rubbing of the book edges and panels. Some marks to the dustwrapper of panels and a little browning to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
