London: George Newnes, 1898. Book. Illus. by About One Hundred and Twenty Full Page and Numerous Text Illustrations and Coloured Plate in Facsimile from Dr. Nansen's Own Sketches, Portrait and Maps.. Very Good. Half-Leather. 8vo. A nice copy of this deluxe edition in red leather and cloth covers, all edges marbled, marbled feps and pastedowns, and five raised bands with gilt lettering and gilt decorative elements. Some scuffing to leather, corners blunted, some rubbing to crown and foot of spines with some loss of gilt, some fading to front board of vol 2, and leather at front hinge of vol 2 split (but still solid). Map at rear of vol 1 with tear and several repairs, but still clean and legible. Text clean. Bindings solid. As is. [ Montreal Books rating system: 1. Fine 2. Near Fine 3. Very Good 4. Good 5.
