Very mild rubbing at spine ends, one tiny closed tear at edge of spine, brown endpapers clean and intact, original owner's note on t.p. "Master Charlie Sherrill / Birth-day gift / from Mama / April 13, 1881" OCLC 3044040 Illustrated with ten full page color plates. This collection of 36 fairytales includes such classics as The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Jack the Giant-Killer, Rumpelstilzchen, Clever Alice, Little Red-Riding-Hood, Puss in Boots, The Yellow Dwarf, and many more. Dinah Maria Craik (born Dinah Maria Mulock, 1826– 1887) was an English novelist and poet. She is best remembered for her novel - John Halifax, Gentleman - which portrays mid-Victorian ideals of English middle-class life. .

At The Antiquarian Book Shop, located in Georgetown - an historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C. we have been buying, selling & appraising rare, interesting and scholarly books in Georgetown for more than 30 years.
