London, 1821; 12m0, pp iv, 114; full calf, binding rubbed, front board loose, lacks both end papers, old ink scribbling on both the verso of the frontispiece and the back pasted end paper, some browing but also extensive soilding through use throughout, part torn out of final leaf with consequent slight loss of text; noted as "end of first part" on the last sheet but apparently complete with 50 fables; engraved frontispiece of a theatrical mask, decorated title, and with each fable decorated with a wood engravings by Thomas Bewick at the head.
