London: Watts & Co, 1905. VG. First British edition. Paperback. 128pp. An important book dealing with the importance of ethics and morality in religious practice and belief, and religious philosophy. This book had an influence upon Ghandi, who published a summary in 1907. Mackintire, (1853-1931), was an American philosopher and lecturer of the Ethical Culture Society in Chicago. With an Introduction by Stanton Coit, (1857-1944), who was an American leader in the Ethical Culture movement. Ethical Societies came into existence and developed under the Darwinian method of viewing human events. Issued as Number 9 in the 'Extra Series' of the Rationalist Press Association. Some age tanning to covers and edges of pages; else a very good copy of the SCARCE British first edition. NO inscriptions, underlining or highlighting.. First British Edition. Paperback. Very Good.
