London: Church Missionary Society, 1913. Hardcover. Good. 176 pp, with color frontispiece, map of east Africa, many black and white photographs. Original green cloth boards with mounted illustration of a native warrior. Spine faded, moderate edgewear, corners bumped. Binding sound, text unmarked. The author was a British poet and composer of hymns who married a Canadian missionary doctor and traveled and worked with him among the Kikuyu and Embu triebs of Mount Kenya. Robinson, Wayward Women, p. 156-7.
