Moderate rubbing and foxing, brief ink on the first blank, front endpaper excised, title and contents pages with minor repair at the upper tip, light dampstains and a few closed tears. ; Quarter tan calf, marbled boards. Collects two volumes of these short stories, many by Hannah More, an English writer and philanthropist and avid abolitionist. She wrote several "Cheap Repository Tracts" (late 1700s) on moral, religious and political topics, for distribution to the literate poor, and this volume reprints many. Complete story collation upon request. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 412 pages .
