Northampton, Massachusetts: Printed at the Gehenna Press for the Department of Printing and Graphic Arts in Sterling Memorial Library at Yale University, 1966., 1966.. Fine. - Folio, 16-3/8 inches high by 9-7/8 inches wide. Sewn light gray printed wraps titled in black on the front cover and dated "9 May 1966" on the rear cover. 4 pages, illustrated with a superb three-quarter page portrait of Benjamin Franklin printed by the Meriden Gravure Company, followed by text in black & orange. The contents include the list of the "toasts" by Franklin and the printers present at the Bunch of Grapes Tavern in Philadelphia. A bold woodcut tailpiece of an American eagle perched on an American shield while clutching arrows and an olive branch illustrates the text and an orange woodcut device decorates the colophon. Near fine.

Limited edition of 1,500 copies. "Fifteen hundred copies were printed at the Gehenna Press in Northampton Massachusetts for the Department of Printing and Graphic Arts in Sterling Memorial Library at Yale University. The portrait of Franklin was printed at The Meriden Gravure Company in Meriden Connecticut. The news item was printed originally in the Independent Gazetteer of Philadelphia for January 21, 1786."
