London: John Murray, 1930. Very good plus.. First edition of Doyle's selected essays and articles on assorted mysteries and psychic phenomena. Subjects covered include the mediumistic powers of Harry Houdini (who certainly objected to this treatment) and whether psychic messages from Oscar Wilde, Jack London, and Charles Dickens really came from those deceased gentleman, or from less esteemed ghosts impersonating their betters. 7.15'' x 4.75''. Original gilt-lettered blue cloth. Lacking original dust jacket. [viii], 332 pages. Light edgewear and a few small stains and scuffs to boards, minor foxing to fore-edge. Pen to front free endpaper.
