A reissue of "The Sportsman's Vade Mecum" of 1856, containing material not in that work on dog breaking, although this is a later printing of the reissue (first published in 1857, this published in 1873). 663 pp. With a few illustrations. A detailed guide to the raising and training of dogs for hunting, as well as for their general care, with chapters on a few specific breeds. GOOD condition. General fading, some scuffing, minor discoloration and soiling. Extremities scuffed. Owner's signature on the first endpaper. Minor toning in the interior. BAL 8158.
