Synopsis: Julia Purcell has always lived at home and somewhat in the shadow of her mercurial and gifted older sister, Frances. When World War I breaks out and her childhood sweetheart Geoffrey enlists, Julia begins to come out of her shell. She enlists as a VAD, and she and Geoffrey marry. "But it is not a time for plans and Julia's happiness is cruelly short-lived.
