Some letters from the author to friends, detailing his travel through the area, including route and accomodation details and suggestions, are laid in. A study of the settlement and inhabitants of Delaware's Eastern Shore, particularly addressing the ways that the region's geography and topography shaped customs, architecture, education, trade and daily life.
