About This Item
The Butterick Publishing Co., Ltd., New York, 1903. 11" X 8.125" in illustrated paper covers. A little soiled, esp. along front cover fore edge; 1.5" tear bottom edge first page; Longitudinal crease back cover. Contents excellent: GOOD PLUS condition. This is an antique ladies' magazine with a heavy emphasis on fashion. I would say that this magazine was for the upper middle class woman, or women who aspired to that status. Many illustrations of ladies' clothing, some in color, as well as clothing for children. In this issue: THE FASHIONS [61PP]; MIDWINTER MILLINERY; ATHLETICS FOR WOMEN - DANCING; FANCY STITCHES AND EMBROIDERY; THE DRESSING OF CHILDREN'S HAIR; ILLUSTRATED COOKERY; LINGERIE FOR THE TROUSSEAU; PRACTICAL AIDS IN HOUSE FURNISHING - THE LIVING ROOM; etc., etc. plus fiction pieces and wonderful period advertising. 186pp. [BD044]. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Good/No Jacket.
