About This Item

Very good orange cloth hardback with dark gray lettering and topstain design on front cover; pictorial endpapers; with dust jacket; written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Arthur Miller (husband to Marilyn Monroe). This play was Tony award winning, Pulitzer Prize winning and Academy Award nominated.

Pages are clean with no writing nor marks nor book plates. Appears unread.

Dust jacket design by Jack Hirsch, the same version as the other Viking Press 1949 dust jacket on the front and back, however, this First Edition of the Book of the Month Club has different inner flaps with summary of the play and other current hits (on the back inner flap) instead of the Miller photo. Dust Jacket has edge wear and small tearing on top and bottom.

Discounted for faded waterstain on front cover (smaller than 1" x 1/2")

Synopsis

Hailed as the first great play to lay bare the emptiness of America's relentless drive for material success, Death of a Salesman is Miller's classic portrait of an ordinary man's struggle to leave his mark on the world.
