Near fine in printed paperback, printed blue and black on beige with the rare blue and black wrappers with the price intact. Wrapper has some staining on the back panel as per photo. Normal edgewear and yellowing on the pages.

According to Leehman as described on the jacket..."This book has a central theme, an interpretation of the past which is also an inspiration for the future: the unity of European arts and letters, the culture denied by the Nazis."
This anthology features work by V.S. Pritchett, Stephen Spender, George Seferis, David Gascoyne and many more.

John Lehmann became a partner in Hogarth Press after Virginia Woolf's death in 1941.
