A Very Good+, three quarter leather binding, marbled boards, gilt lettering on spine, TEG with blemishes, illustrated with 7 lithographs (2 folding, one of which is split but present) and 7 woodcut plates and numerous in-text images; 2 folding tables and 1 large folding map, copy lacking the half-title in first volume, some rubbing along board edges and joint, age toning to pages, some discoloration to leather spines, some discoloration/age spotting to front and back matters, fold-out frontis-illustration Volume 1 is torn at crease but taped together near hinge, few small dog-eared pages, binding intact with slightly starting hinges, some handling/scuffing to boards.
