About This Item

First edition with dust jacket, oversized children's illustrated book, published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1983. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. This is the 'Kohl's Care's' edition of this book. The story of Cornelius, a crocodile who learned who to walk on two legs from a monkey. What would the other crocodiles think about that? 8" X 11", un-paginated, approximately 36 pages. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. The 'This Book Belongs To' page is not written on. Illustrated boards that match the jacket art. Boards are flat, and the corners are not bumped or creased. The dust jacket has a one inch closed tear at the top left, at the gutter near the spine. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. The binding is tight and square. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.

Synopsis

Leo Lionni, an internationally known designer, illustrator, and graphic artist, was born in Holland and lived in Italy until he came to the United States in 1939. He was the recipient of the 1984 American Institute of Graphic Arts Gold Medal and was honored posthumously in 2007 with the Society of Illustrators’ Lifetime Achievement Award. His picture books are distinguished by their enduring moral themes, graphic simplicity and brilliant use of collage, and include four Caldecott Honor Books: Inch by Inch, Frederick, Swimmy, and A lexander and the Wind-Up Mouse. Hailed as “a master of the simple fable” by the Chicago Tribune, he died in 1999 at the age of 89. From the Hardcover edition.

Let us know, we'd love to hear from you! Do you want to see a photo of a book before you order it ? We try to post as many photos as possbiel, but sometimes there will be a item in inventory that does not show a photo here. So feel free to ask for photos, we don't mind at all. We package all of our orders carefully either in a box that has been designed to ship books, or in a padded envelope. We want to make sure you receive your order in the best possible condition! Our preferred shipping method is USPS Media Mail. Recently, the USPS has added tracking to Media Mail , which has been a great addition to this service. If you do choose to have your order shipped "Expedited", my shipping cost may seem higher than expected. Some of our books are large format hardcovers that can cost quite a bit when shipped expedited. So I would like to make sure that I can cover the cost upfront. However, if the actual cost of expedited shipping is less than the charge, I will refund the difference!
