Hand drawn cover art and section divisions. 114pp. Slightly bowed otherwise in fine condition. This one of the most unique fundraiser cook books I have run across. The sections are typical, appetizer, soups etc., but the entries are not. For the most part, the recipes use some sort of wine or liquor, a few do not. As an example: Chicken and Turtle Soup with Sherry, Bridge Luncheon Casserole calls for sherry, artichoke hearts, crab or shrimp and a variety of other ingredients, all easily sourced. The Eggs Benedict Arnold recipe calls for bandy cheese sauce, and Gay Cole's Orange Curacao Baked Beans is quite a simple dish but sounds delicious! There is no reference to publisher or editor, save for the foreword by Dr. Knudsen, only the contributor names are given. Regarding history, Dr. Knudsen practiced in the San Francisco area, "A true San Franciscan, he was a man of unique grace and high ideals, combining sophistication to wine and food..."
