One of 1000 unsigned copies on machine-made paper, pink cloth binding with title in black on spine. Soiling to the cover and light foxing on front and back sheets, not affecting the title page. Binding tight. Inscription in pen on flyleaf.

[Chanticleer 85]. Nine stories by Elizabeth Bowen, A. E. Coppard, John Van Drute, Sean O'Faolain, Ronald Fraser, Norah Hoult, Hamish MacLaren, G. B. Stren, and Malachi Whitaker. The unlimited edition at 6 shillings, was the outcome of an attempt to produce cheaper Cockerels for small purses.
