New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1906. First edition, 1906. Remarkably nice copy. Comprehensive history of the river, illustrated throughout with black and white plates, folding color map at rear. Thick volume in dark blue cloth lettered in gilt, black and white illustration mounted on front cover, frontis engraving in sepia tones, 463 pages plus publisher's ads. Very light rubbing to the corners and spine ends, good hinges, firm text block, pages and plates clean and free from foxing, armorial bookplate inside front cover with small name stamp on its upper margin, no other markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
