London: John Churchill and Sons 1868, 6th edition. (Hardcover) 333pp. Good, no dust jacket. Burgundy cloth with gilt lettering to the front cover. All edges stained red, tables, index. The covers are worn at the corners and bottom edges, the spine is faded and chipped, front inner hinge is cracked. "The Pharmacopoeia of 1864 had the merit of amalgamating the three Pharmacopoeias of Britain, but it had defects, and the Medical Council orders a new Edition to be prepared. A Committee was appointed of eminent men, with the President of the Council as Chairman" - from the Preface to the Fifth Edition. Book about Pharmacopoeia, Prescription Drugs.
