The first edition of the first issue in the new series of The Colophon, an American quarterly periodical for book lovers. Established in 1929 by Elmer Adler, whose idea was to group various printers from all around the world to contribute with articles using their own choice of paper, typography, and illustrations. This new series was produced from 1935 to 1938, with less lofty production values before returning to a higher quality in 1939 with the new graphic series.
