About This Item

(Port Melbourne, Australia): Heinemann, (1991). First edition and the only edition, a paperback original. Friedrich's posthumously published autobiography completed with the assistance of Flanagan, the 2014 Booker Prize-winning author "considered by many to be the finest Australian novelist of his generation (The Economist)." By contrast, Johann Friedrich Hohenberger, aka "John Friedrich," was considered "Australia's greatest conman" who, at the time of his death by suicide, was the subject of Victoria's biggest fraud case. According to Flanagan's postscript, they were nearing completion after two years of working together when Friedrich died. Near fine in lightly rubbed pictorial paperwraps. Relatively scarce, and especially so in the U.S.
