The characteristics and ceramic uses of the various kinds of clays are described, and numerous recipes for earthenware, stoneware, and porcelain bodies are included, together with methods for mixing, additions for different textures, and suggested firing techniques. The ingredients of glazes and the methods of glaze calculation are fully described. A little creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels.
