About This Item

New York: Viking, 2003. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. This is a first printing of the first edition, with a complete number line. The interior is crisp and fresh. The author, Charles de Lint, has added a short message and his signature to the dedicataion page, but there are no other marks. The dark blue covers are clean, with just a touch of wear at tips and corners. The silver gilt spine lettering is still shiny. The dust jacket is also in excellent condition. It is not corner clipped and again shows no damage and very little wear. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: Lillian, an orphan living with her aunt on a distant homestead where she has no human playmates, makes friends with the wild cats who live in the forest. When Lillian is bitten by a poisonous snake the cats rescue her from death and use thier magic to turn her into a cat too. In the end, though, Lillian uses her powers to become a girl again.
