About This Item

Alfred A. Knopf, 1952. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Simont, Marc. A nice copy of this collection of Christmas stories invented by Cooke for BBC holiday broadcasts. Cooke alleged that these were "traditional American" holiday stories - not so, he made 'em up. First edition stated, with charming 2-color illustrations throughout by Marc Simont, probably best known for The 13 Clocks. A fun, unusual title. Gift inscription to previous owner on front endpaper - a couple of pages have a stray pen mark or a touch of soil, but overall VG in an easily VG (unclipped) jacket, in protective mylar.
