Probably a later printing, as there is no specific statement of First Edition - alhough this book was published in conjunction with Van Lachlan and Lange and may represent an exception to Harper & Row's customary practice. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR and there are a number fo chinese characters inscribed on the title page, undecipherable to us. First Edition (1983), unstated. There is no publication date provided, but the Libradry of Congress Number begins with 83. Probably a later printing, as there is no specific statement of First Edition - alhough this book was published in conjunction with Van Lachlan and Lange and may represent an exception to Harper & Row's customary practice. Very Near Fine in Very Good+ DJ: The Book shows the faintest soiling to the lower fore-edge; else flawless; the binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text.. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing a single unobtrusive cosmetic imperfection. Bright and clean. Corners sharp. Very close to 'As New'. The DJ shows just a hint of roughage at the head of the backstrip and a small nick at the top of the front hinge; mild rubbing to the panels; the white background field shows a bit of toning, especially at the backstrip; unclipped.
