First Edition. 485 pages, illustrations, index, minor wear to jacket edges, minor offsetting on endpaper where newspaper articles were laid in. Laid in are 2 newspapers clippings. Full page from the New York Herald Tribune Sunday May 31, 1936 Book section. Full page review of the book with illustrations of Goodnight and cowboys roping cattle by Bugbee. "Pioneer Cowman on the Plains of Texas A Trail Blazer, Indian Fighter, and Champion Cusser" article concludes on the backside. A very nice piece, would look great framed. Second article is a clipping 3 pieces, from The New York Times Book Review June 7, 1936, "A Valiant Cowman and Pioneer of the Texas Country The Salty Story of Charles Goodnight, Many-sided Plainsman and the Lands He Ruled. Rader 1730, Howes H36, Herd 960, Six-Score 53, ¿The best biography of a cowman ever written. Goodnight¿s career spanned the history of the development of West Texas, from Indian fighting to oil wells.¿.
