About This Item

Cambridge University Press, for the University of London Library, Cambridge, first edition, 1975. Cloth, large 4to,. vii, 772 pp. Approximately 10,000 entries. Goldsmiths' Library has one of the world's finest collections of early works on economics. This is a single volume from the 5-volume Catalogue of the Library, and covers printed books published between 1801 and 1850. "The arrangement of the second volume of the catalogue follows that of the first, but there is one major change in the material to be found in it: British Parliamentary Papers, as printed for the two Houses of Parliament, have been excluded after the year 1801. However, notable Reports published by H.M. Stationery Office, by commercial firms or reprinted by societies are included. There is also a greater number of local, as distinct from private, Acts than was originally intended when the catalogue was planned. This is because it has been decided to include entries for the original printed texts of, for instance, early Railway Acts which were only published in an abbreviated form with the collections of Public General Acts."- from the preface.
