A useful bibliography which contains a wide range of material relating mainly to UK companies of the 19th and 20th centuries. Some UK based companies whose main sphere of operations was overseas are included, as are a few foreign-owned firms with a large direct investment in the UK economy. The entries list businesses both by name and by type (using the Standard Industrial Classification) and are fully crossreferenced to the main index entries arranged by author. Each main index entry gives the full title of the publication, publisher, number of pages and whether illustrated and indexed, whether sources rae cited, and where the work may be found.
