London: Eveleigh Nash, 1913. [Strange tales] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (19 x 14cm), pp.287; [1]; 16. Publisher's advertisements to rear. Red cloth to boards, gilt titles to upper and spine. Embellishment in blind to both boards. Ex-library copy; library record to rear paste-down, offsetting from stamp to rear flyleaf. Interior moderately foxed throughout. Neat pictorial bookplate to front paste-down. Edges foxed and toned. Boards lightly rubbed, spine gently toned. Some wear to extremities. Very good. An anthology of tales surrounding the paranormal detective Thomas Carnacki whose usual investigations concern strange, ghostly activity within old English mansions.
