This copy inscribed at the head of the title leaf: Richard Mason Esq. with the authors kind regards. 8vo. x, 264pp + xxxii publishers catalogue and index, dated April 1868. Green cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with a double embossed blind border to the upper and lower boards. Some wear to the backstrip ends, and several short slits to the gutters. Rear hinge just a fraction tender. Some light occasional spotting. Subsequent ownership details neatly inked to the head of the dedication leaf, and a tiny dealer plate to the base of the rear pastedown. Quite a nice bright copy. A two-page preface by the author precedes thirty-five poems and thirteen prose pieces, mostly concerning Wales and Welsh Nationality..

A subsequent owner presented this volume to the University College of North Wales, who added an inkstamp to the title page and their bookplate to the front pastedown, this last now partially obscured by a second blank pasted slip. 8vo. x, 264pp + 32pp publisher's advertisements and index. Green cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with a double blind-stamped border to the upper and lower boards. Backstrip ends bruised and with a tiny enclosed tear to the cloth. Some spotting and browning to several preliminary and concluding leaves. A two-page preface by the author precedes thirty-five poems and thirteen essays, mostly concerning Wales and the Welsh, and including his lengthy fifty-six stanza poem read at the National Eisteddfod at Llangollen in 1858..
