About This Item
London: His Majesty's Stationery Office, 1902. Hardcover. Very Good. [ciii introduction], pp 1-616. These papers, dating from 1579-1716, were formerly the property of the titular James III, (the Old Pretender) and his sons, Charles Edward (The Young Pretender) and Henry, the Cardinal Duke of York. An account is given of their acquisition by the Prince Regent for the Windsor Castle Library, along with a long general description of the collection. This edition is bound in blue boards with a leather spine, gilt titles and marbled edges. The leather is rubbed, especially to the head and foot but the boards are clean with little wear; The binding is tight and the text is near fine with crisp pages, some spotting to preliminaries. Overall a very good copy. Very Good 1902
