Hardbacks in library reinforced cloth, blind stamp publishers device to front covers, titles to spine. Decorative endpapers. Vol 1 pp377, ads 17. Vol 2. pp440. Cloth boards a little frayed spine edges, spine darkened. All pages tight, bright and clean, some age tone to edges. Neat ownership mark of HBR and EMR dated Feb 15th 1928. These books from the library of Arnold Rattenbury and the ownership marks are that of his father and mother Harold and Emily who were missionaries in China at the time of inscribing these books. Scarce first edition 2 volume set with an interestimg provenance.
