About This Item
London : Her Majesty's Stationery Office, 1970-1976. Cloth. Very Good. 10" by 7". None. A first edition of Sir Llewellyn Woodward's history of British foreign policy during the Second World War. Part of an enormous and meticulous project undertaken by the government to provide a official history of the conflict, such as intelligence and military policy, the work provides the first official account of foreign policy published. Contains numerous inkstamps of the Daily Telegraph library. In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally quite smart, there are markings to the boards, including an ink inscription to volume one, as well as the remnants of spine-labels to each backstrip, with some ink inscriptions, as well as ink stamps to fore edges. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout, although there are a great many inkstamps to the endpages, including some to the first and title pages Very Good
