About This Item
Leigh-on-Sea: F Lewis (Publishers) Limited, 1937. Unclipped dustwrapper is in quite bad condition, with two large tears to top left and bottom right corners of front panel, a piece missing at top left corner of same, also wear and creasing to the edges. Minor bumping to spine ends and corners of red boards, some foxing to outer pages, but otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. Originally published in 1933, this is a later "Cheap Edition" from 1937. Looks at the British Empire Panels by Welsh artist Frank Brangwyn, originally commissioned for the Royal Gallery of the House of Lords but rejected by their lordships for being too colourful. They were bought by the Swansea Council and now reside in the Brangwyn Hall. 145pp including 39 colour and 11 b&w plates.. Hard Cover. Good/Poor. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
