George Allen & Unwin Ltd., 1940. Hardcover. Good/Good. 1940. First Edition. 251 pages. This is an ex-Library book. Pictorial dust jacket over blue cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white photographic plates, and fold-out graph. Signed by the author, with dedication to Cyril Carter. Pages are lightly tanned with mild foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout, with a few small nicks and rub marks along text block edge. Pencil inscription to front paste-down. Plates are bright and clear, with slight tanning to edges. Slight cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Graph is lightly tanned, with mild edge-wear. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping and slight crushing to spine ends. Liquid drop on front board. Clipped jacket has light surface wear, with small tears and creasing to spine ends, edges and corners. Lightly tanned overall.
