In 1712, John Baskett began printing the Book of Common Prayer, shortly after the success of the 1710 New Testament. Baskett was the printer to the king during the first half of the 18th-century. This edition is bound with 'A Companion to the Altar' – an important supplement to the 'Book of Common Prayer'. It helps clarify and manage the Holy Sacraments, prayers, meditations, and aspects of worship in the Church of England.
This impressive tome features exquisite full-page engravings of portraits of saints and Bible scenes.
