Ruby 32mo. 480 + 120 unnumbered pages. All text printed within panelled borders (title page a little soiled at the bottom). All edges gilt. Original pale yellow endpapers. Contemporary dedication on the front pastedown dated 1888. Provenance: W.J. Gratton. 70 x 100mm. Original blue velvet, ornately cut-out brass plaque on front with decorations and "Common Prayer" engraved. Original decorative brass clasp, the reverse of the clasp has the name ' J. Blackwood ' engraved. Very faint vertical line impressed on the lower board. Tarnish to some parts of trim and the clasp is slightly twisted but works efficiently in closing the book. Top of the gilt trim is a little uneven at the open end. Small marks at the top of the page edges. OCLC, 220523839. WorldCat locates 4 copies.
