About This Item

No Dust Jacket

Book: Blemishes - Edges of paste-down pages are lightly stained/toned (photo). Rubbing on margin edges and board tips (photo). Light uniform toning of pages befitting a book that is almost a century old. The gilt raptor image on the front board has a rub in the center (photo).

Heavy-grained leather boards and spine. No marks or entries. All of the 331 color portraits and 129 B&W illustrations remain in excellent condition. No separation or signs of repair on the board and spine junction, this book was made to last, and it did! The pages are glossy and high-quality.

The National Geographic Society is famed for its quality publications throughout its long history. This book is a testament to that effort and the contents are still relevant to the birds described last century and this century. This would be a wonderful gift for any birder who collects rare historical bird books.
