Gregory "Greg" Bear (born 1951) is an American SF writer, winner of Nebula and Hugo awards, and illustrator best known for wide-ranging science fiction. Thereafter, it was first published as a book in 1985. <br /> <br /> The Introduction by James Gunn discusses how Bood Music evolved from researc into genetic engineering that led to "speculation that the final miniaturization of the computer would end up in a biological form."This edition is finely bound with new illustrations by David Deitrick.<br /> <br /> David R. Deitrick (age 66) is an American illustration artist, scupltor and designer who often works with paper cutouts, markers, and acrylics. Synopsis

Blood Music is a science fiction novel by Greg Bear. It was originally published as a short story in 1983, winning the 1983 Nebula Award for best novelette and the 1984 Hugo Award in the same category. Greg Bear published an expanded version in novel form in 1985. The completed novel was nominated for the Nebula Award in 1985 and for the Hugo, Campbell, and British Science Fiction Awards in 1986.
