About This Item

Cupples and Hurst. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. x, 128p. index. There was a serious debate on whether or not the strong Federal Constitution would be ratified. It was introduced on September 17, 1787 and slowly there was a need to find the ninth state which would be enough to put it into effect. It took less than one year and it was New Hampshire which ratified it though in their state constitution they still allowed the right for a revolution. Illustrations here are of the Old North Meeting Hose, the Plan of the Gallery and several others. Withdrawn from the now defunct Long Island Historical Society with library label and blindstamps on title page. wear at bottom of spine else a near fine copy.
