Passic, NJ: [United Textile Workers of America], 1927. Handbill. Leaflet, all text printed on one side only, unevenly toned, pen note "Passic, NJ" on leaflet, creased else good condition. 8.5x11 inches. Appeal to Botany workers done during the textile strikes of 1926 - 1927 in Passic - led by Albert Weisbord who was affiliated with the CPUSA at time. This strike was the first major post-WWI strike led by the left and lasted almost a year and the precursor to the Gastonia strike also led by Weisbord. Robert Dunn was affiliated with both the ACLU & the CPUSA, Budenz at this time worked with A.J. Muste and the Conference for Progressive Labor Action. The leaflet calls the UTWA "our union" so clearly produced before the CPUSA's third period.
