London: The Roxburghe Press Book. Good. Buckram. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Undated, but c.1897 (written in pencil on title page). Green buckram with titles in gilt on front cover and spine. Pages untrimmed. Condition: Good, with some bumping to cover corners and head and tail of spine. Cloth of front cover has some light foxing. Previous owners bookplate on front pastedown. Light foxing to endpapers. Binding sound, text clean, apart from an occasional S written in pencil to some margins. 274pp. Four plates plus a fold-out summary of Editions. The chapters include Gilbert White, the Naturalist, his books, The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne, bibliographies, Gilbert White as a poet, and Selborne itself.l.
