About This Item

Berkeley, CA: Red Mountain Tribe, 1969. Newspaper. 32 p., monochrome cover wrapper and centerspread, folded tabloid (11.5x17 inches), evenly toned, p11 misprinted and blurry, else very good condition. Exterior headlines: "Anti-war Mobilization / Million to March / Bring the War Home!" Content starts with small atrocity stories (G.I. resistance paper quashed, CBW) and go on to Vietnam, then reportage about Bobby Seale, a "Pigathon" at Los Angeles Black Panther office, the Chicago 8 trial, a short interview with Emory Douglas (Panther artist; has a vignette photoportrait of him), gays vs. KFOG (protest against on-air phobic remarks); the monochrome doublespread is an on-set Hollywood piece on filming "The Strawberry Statement." Amongst the numerous remaining stories we note one on Ysidro Macias, "imprisoned Chicano student leader," he's denied bail.
