Yellow cover with black and red spine title; white, red and black cover title; and color cover illustration. Illustrated endpapers. Illustrated dust jacket with the Cat in the Hat and slogan of Beginner Books on the front section. Publisher's advertisement for Beginner Books on the back section. Jokes by Bennett Cerf approved by his two young (at the time) sons, reduced to words of one and two syllables, and illustrated by Carl Rose. They feature a boy named Marvin and his honest and literal world view. Book is in Near Fine Condition: edges rubbed; clean and tight. Dust jacket is in Good Condition: rubbed and lightly soiled; tail of spine slightly chipped; light creasing hear edges; bright.
