Stated First Edition/Fourth Printing; A Very Good book in a Very Good dust jacket. SIGNED directly to the front free paper by the author. A handsome copy of this Pulitzer Prize winner by the author of "The Wall' and "Hiroshima", among others. This copy is in very good condition with mildly soiled yellow boards, some age-toning to the spine, and some light off-setting to the end and free papers. Housed in a crisp and bright very good dust jacket that shows a couple soiled areas to the front panel, some mild fading to the spine, and some moderate rubbing and chipping to the spine ends and edges, particularly the spine head. Not remaindered, not price clipped, not ex-library; in a protective Mylar sleeve and will ship carefully wrapped in a sturdy box.
Synopsis
A Bell for Adano is a film directed by Henry King starring John Hodiak and Gene Tierney. The film was adapted from the novel A Bell for Adano by John Hersey, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1945. The story concerns Italian-American U.S. Army Major Joppolo, who is placed in charge of the town of Adano during the invasion of Sicily.
