About This Item
85-106 pages with tables and cited references. Quarto (11" x 8 1/4") bound in original publisher's wrappers. Current Anthropology Volume 27, Number 4 complete issue. First edition. A review of recent work in economic anthropology finds three competing approaches: decision theory, culturalism, and neo-Marxism. These approaches are tested with data on four dimensions of the cash sale and barter of fish on Lake Titicaca, Peru. The first is somewhat more successful, although the others also explain some data. Comparisons are drawn with barter and cash sale elsewhere in the Andes. Condition: Light edge wear, corners bumped else very good.
